Members of the Medway Youth Council represented their young people to a convention which brought together MYPs and Youth Representatives from all across the South East.
A guest speaker from London’s Trident Programme gave a speech and following an opportunity for questions, 3 of our members asked questions to further their knowledge on violent youth activity. Our Campaign Lead took the opportunity to ask a question regarding our annual conference which will be held on November 7th.
The day also saw the release of preliminary Make Your Mark Results. The South East saw turnouts rise by approximately 28%, however in Medway we increased our turnout by 100% to a record 10180 young people who cast a ballot in the national campaign. Full results breakdown will be made available in late October.
Thomas Baldock MYP received his House of Commons briefing ahead of the November 9th Annual Sitting of youth MPs. We are excited to be given this platform to represent the young people of Medway Nationally.
